Life basically comes to halt during the holy month of Ramadan and the summer heat. For me the heat can be stifling and other times welcoming. Ras Tanura, home to about 3500 expats or 3501 if you include me, is a beautiful resort type of town located on the Arabian Gulf (some of you know it as Persian). The beaches are pristine, the sand is soft, the water is warm and the beaches are empty! Why? Because most people who have lived here for a while think it is too hot to go to the beach. Thus the deserted photos, don’t worry though-I have been told come October/November this place is packed.
